See Yosemite Valley in all of it’s spring glory! From spectacular views of Half Dome to Yosemite Falls at it’s peak, this three day two night backpacking trip packs a lot in, with some of the most best views in the park. This scenic trip with mostly moderate days traverses the North Rim of Yosemite Valley with the last day ending by descending back down to the valley floor next to the highest waterfall in North America.


May 17-19 

Trip Itinerary

  • Day 1-Meet your guides in Yosemite Valley at 8:30am. Since the trip begins on Day 1, it is important that you are their on time. After some stretching, we'll leave the cars, and begin our climb out of the valley floor up the Snow Creek Trail. We'll take our time up the trail, enjoy the views, and camp along the beautiful snow creek. Watch the sunset change colors on Half Dome?!?.
  • Day 2: We'll spend the day traversing the North Rim of Yosemite Valley. Our route we'll take us past Indian Arch, and North Dome. Expect breathtaking views of Half Dome and the valley. We will camp near the top of Yosemite Falls.
  • Day 3: . Today we'll pack up our packs, make a quick detour to the top of Yosemite Falls, and then begin our descent down the Yosemite Falls Trail. At the valley floor, we'll take the shuttle back to our cars, planning to be back around 1 p.m.


  • Expedition begins out of Yosemite Valley. Closest airports are San Francisco and Fresno, CA. Public transportation to Yosemite Valley is available through Yosemite Area Regional Transit (Y.A.R.T.S.). If transportation to Yosemite has too many speed bumps, please contact us for other transportation ideas.
  • All food and beverages are included in the cost, starting with lunch on the first day of the course, through lunch on the final day.
  • Group gear (stoves, cookware, first aid kit, group tarp, etc) is included. Check out our personal packing list on our planning page. There may be options to rent gear from us.
  • With the unpredictable and lengthening wildfire season, we recommend purchasing trip insurance. Possible evacuations are not covered in the cost.
  • Since our hiking begins the first day, with a certain amount of mileage required, it is important that you arrive at 8:30a on Friday. We recommend staying in, or close to Yosemite Valley the night before. Please be aware of how long it will take you from your accomodation to our meeting point.
  • While this trip is moderate, there is still "challenging" aspects of the trip. Most notebly ascending the Snow Creek Trail and descending the Yosemite Falls Trail. The more fit you are, the more enjoyable it will be!
